This radio “debate” was a friendly discussion concerning the general issues faced in the Calvinist-Arminian debate. Dr. Brown who was defending some sort of “Arminian” position was very articulate and honest about his position. The emotional feel of this debate was rare and worth a listen.

While written creeds have their advantages, unwritten creeds have a few as well. With a written creed we are able to nail down precise language. We can affirm this and deny that. Everyone is able to make a conscious decision about whether or not they agree. This, in turn, mirrors at least one of the benefits of an unwritten creed. First, it leaves more wiggle room. Second, if the creed is unwritten, there is no place to sign on the dotted line. If there is no list of signatories, it’s so much easier to simply assume that everyone is on board. It’s not an easy thing to deny a creed that hasn’t really been written.
James White’s blog stated the following regarding the second debate:
“The second day of debate between Dr. James White and Harold Camping of Family Radio is now available. Today Mr. Camping didn’t even attempt to interact with Dr. White’s presentation, attempting instead to teach his unusual Biblical numerology to the listeners.”

Here is the link to Dr. White’s blog where you can download pt. 1 of the debate. When you listen to the debate you will notice that Harold Camping’s comments are pretty tough to follow. Mr. Camping seems to like playing the game ”bible passage hop-scotch”.
